  3. Staking Guide

Warning: You could potentially lose your items by participating in this activity. In Graardor, you will find that there are two main forms of gambling that users participate in: Dicing and Duel Arena Staking. As with almost everything, there are two types of people in relation to gambling: people who risk big, and people who lose big. Duel Arena Staking You will find that a much larger audience, (and a larger variety as well), participate in Duel Arena Staking, or staking. In this particular form of gambling, users can bet a specific amount of gold or item(s) in their particular form of staking. There is a large variety of stakes you can participate in, the point is to choose your favorite and have fun! Also, as with Dicing you have the opportunity to double your gold stack. Where do I go? Go to your minigame teleports and click "Duel Arena", once you will be there in the dicing area. Run to the left and up to get to the dueling arena. How do I start? Once you are in the dueling area you will see various users advertising what form of staking they would like to do against other players. To begin a duel, right click the user you want to duel and click "Challenge", the rest will be explained! What techniques are there? Well, it depends on what form of staking you are participating in. This article will discuss the techniques available to you below. Types of Dueling As described above, there are several different types of dueling. Below, you will find a table of the current forms of dueling. Type of Duel Duel Description Boxing Boxing is where two users restrict the use of all armor, weapons, prayers, special attack and food to punch, block, and kick the opposing player to defeat. Rapping Rapping is where two players with a Chaotic Rapier duel each other. You must have 80 Dungeoneering to use a Chaotic weapon, and have 200,000 Dungeoneering tokens to purchase one. Users who "Rap" each other restrict all armor, prayers, special attack, maging, and food except the weapon slot. Mage Boxing Mage Boxing is where two players with Barrage Runes duel each other, and attempt to freeze and barrage the other to defeat. There is no stat restrictions other than 99 mage is recommended. This duel restricts all armor, weapons, prayer, melee, and potions/food. Range Boxing Range Boxing is where two players agree upon a type of ranging weapon to attack each other with duel each other. It is recommended to see the players inventory so they don't try to attack you with a Z-Bow while you are using a magic short. The restrictions is all armor, prayer, potions/food and they leave the weapon slot un-ticked and arrows slot un-ticked. DDSing DDSing is where two players challenge each other with Dragon Daggers, and try to spec the other until they are defeated. It is recommended that you ask the user if they will straight dds or dds+rap, so you aren't losing any money due to a technicality. The restrictions is all armor, prayer, potions/food, and they will leave the weapon slot UN-ticked, and spec. Attack UN-ticked. VLSing VLSing has the same restrictions as Rapping, but includes the use of a Vesta Long Sword. Money Management Techniques Note: This Technique only works effectively in the Duel Arena. It is a purely SUGGESTIVE technique, and is not officially endorsed by any staff/developer of Graardor. Use it at your own risk. This technique is best used in the Duel Arena. Why is it best used in the Duel Arena? Well, for the most part, wins/loses are pretty persistent in regards to dueling. Most people have a win loss ratio very close to 1:1 (1 win for every 1 loss), give or take a little. There are very rare cases where you will see 1.5:1, or reversed, .5:1. However, for the most part it is more common to see people with a Win/Lose ratio of 1:1. Well, so what? Well, it comes to show that there is some sort of consistency in winning and losing. Requirements: You must only do this in the Duel Arena, and this technique is most effective starting out at 1000m (1b). The larger the cash stack, the higher % chance you have of this technique working successfully. Why? You have to lose some to win some. Technique Itself: The technique is very simple: start out low, and gradually begin higher. You will lose, but that is key to this technique. In order to gain, you must re-coop your loses, for which you will multiply any amount you lose by 1.25%, and only start betting 1-2% of your total amount of cash on hand. So, if you have 1000m (1 billion), you will be only using 1-2% of that amount as staking base. 1,000,000,000 * .01 = 10,000,000 so you will only be using 10 - 20m of your cash to begin with. The technique is to begin with 10m and start gradually getting higher each time you win/lose. Below is a table you can view on wins losses. Starting Base Won/Lose? Amount Won/Lose * 1.25% 10m Won 15m (just go up) 10m Lose 15m (just go up) 15m Won 20m (just go up) 15m Lose 20m (just go up) 20m Won 20m (stay the same) 20m Lose 20m * 1.25 = 25m (next base) 25m Won 25m (stay the same) 25m Lose 25m * 1.25 = 31.25m (next base) 32m Won 32m (stay the same) 32m Lose 32m * 1.25 = 40m (next base) 40m Won 40m (stay the same) 40m Lose 40m * 1.25 = 50m (next base) As you can see, this technique is very effective assuming that for every duel you lose, you go up one and win. This is not realistic at all, but for starting purposes you may use this table. You will always have multiple loses in a row, this will never be avoided. For that, you can refer to the multiple loss table below, which basically shows you the amount you've lost all together, is still multiplied by 1.25% Starting Base Lose/Win Total Lost So Far Total Won Next Base 50m Lose 50m 0m 50m * 1.25 = 62.5m 62m Lose 112m 0m 112m * 1.25 = 140m 140m Win 112m 140m 140m (stays the same) 140m Win 112m 280m 140m (stays the same) 140m Lose 252m 280m 140m * 1.25 = 175m 175m Win 252m 455m 175m (stays the same) As you can tell, there is always room for some sort of profit. You may have the question: So how do I know when to quit. Well that is simple, it is whenever you have won 50% of your starting out cash pile, or when you have lost 50% of your cash pile. Recommended threshold: 500m. But this is suggestive, please remember. Hopefully, this will be of some use to you. Closing Statements Please remember that gambling is risky business and you can lose a lot of your hard earned Coins & items by doing this. The point of gambling is to have fun, while at the same time hopefully making a bit of gold. Not all losers can be winners, and all winners are losers. Remember that next time you stake, and remember not to rage-quit. It just isn't worth it. Hopefully this has helped you.

  9. Barrows Minigame Guide

Barrows Also called Barrows Members Area? No Amount of Banks None Amount of Altars None Points of Interest Mounds of grass Accessibility Dueling ring or Minigames Teleports Barrows is a combat based minigame in Graardor in which the objective is to defeat the six Barrows brothers. Each Brother resides in their own tomb which does not change place. To fight a brother, you must first enter the tomb by using a Spade on the top of the brother's mound. From there, you then click Search on the Sarcophagus. A brother will then appear and attack the player. One of the tombs will not contain a brother, rather, it will be a hidden tunnel, which leads to the Chest. The player must first defeat the five other brothers before entering the secret tunnel. Barrows is one of the few ways to obtain Barrow's equipment. Once the player discovers the secret tunnel and enters it, they are taken directly to the reward chest and has to finish off the last brother in order to receive any loot. Transportation There are two different ways to get to Barrows. One is with the Ring of Duelling and the other is by using the "Minigames" teleport in the Spellbook. Suggested Gear and Stats It is important to note that the melee brothers have high defence, and without the correct protection prayers, can hit hard and consistently. However, the Barrows Brothers are generally weak to Magic attacks, and it would be wise to use Magic against them. Players are recommended to use protection prayers to avoid being hit by the Brothers. As such, a Prayer level of at least 43 is recommended. To keep your prayer up, you will need either Prayer potions or Super restore potions. This can also facilitate multiple runs of the Barrows minigame. It is important to note, though, that Verac the Defiled will occasionally hit through your prayer, so having some food, like Rocktail, is wise for multiple runs. The Barrows Brothers Dharok the Wretched Suggested Prayer: Protect from Melee/ Deflect Melee Dharok is a melee based brother that hits the hardest of any one. Dharok hits harder the lower health he is at. At low lifepoints, Dharok can hit in the high 600s so it is highly advised to turn off protection prayers AFTER the death animation occurs if the player wishes to conserve prayer. Protection prayers are not mandatory, but it is highly recommended to use them. Torag the Corrupted Suggested Prayer: Protect from Melee/ Deflect Melee Torag can be quite frustrating and long to fight him considering he has the highest defence of any brother. It is therefore recommended to use Magic against him with the highest level spell available to the player. Note that he will sometimes get stuck in his coffin, thus making combat impossible unless you run away from him. Verac the Defiled Suggested Prayer: Protect from Melee/ Deflect Melee Verac is often considered the most dangerous brother because of his ability to hit through prayer and armour. Players using melee on him must be extremely wary because sometimes he can hit several times through prayer. Mages should also watch Verac carefully, because he can deal large amounts of damage through robes when he is unfrozen. It would also be effective to spend the player's special attacks on him, so he can be taken down quickly before he can do massive amounts of damage. Guthan the Infested Suggested Prayer: Protect from Melee/ Deflect Melee Guthan can be considered as the easiest melee brother. Guthan's Special Ablility is to randomly heal how much damage he has dealt to a player, however this can be completely negated by praying Protect from Melee or Deflect melee. His defence is lower than Torag the Corrupted and Dharok the Wretched. Ahrim the Blighted Suggested Prayer: Protect from Magic/ Deflect Magic Ahrim uses Magic and has fairly low defence against melee. He has low lifepoints, however, he hits EXTREMELY consistently through melee armour, so protection prayers are essential. He should not be a problem if the player uses the protection prayer. He can lower your strength as that is his special effect. Karil the Tainted Suggested Prayer: Protect from Missiles/ Deflect Missiles Karil is the weakest of all Barrows brothers. His attacks do not hit very often through armour, and he is very weak to melee. If the player has high defence and good armour, it is not even necessary to use protection prayers on him.
